Presenting in English

This course provides you with training and practice in giving professional classroom presentations in English.  By the end of the course, you will know how to give a memorable presentation with a clear message. You will be given the linguistic tools in order to signal structure, build rapport with the audience, handle questions and close the presentation confidently. We will also discuss how to adapt your presentation to an audience of mixed English ability, and in the later sections of the course you will be given the opportunity to practise your English presenting skills and to receive individualized Feedback.

After the seminar, lecturers will:

• feel more confident delivering content in English
• possess a range of strategies for opening and closing presentations, maintaining the attention of the audience, and handling difficult questions.
• understand where their own strengths and weaknesses lie
• be able to adapt presentations to fit heterogeneous / international audiences.
